FAQ — Questions fréquentes sur le masque de sommeil en soie Andromeda
What's the difference between 22 momme and 19 momme silk?
Momme measures the density of silk fabric. At 22 momme, Andromeda silk is 15–20% denser than a standard 19 momme silk. It blocks 100% of light, holds up better through washing, and maintains its softness over time. 19 momme silk, being lighter, loses its properties more quickly.
What is Grade 6A mulberry silk?
Grade 6A is the highest global classification for mulberry silk. Less than 5% of world production reaches this level. The filaments are extra-long, uniform, with no knots or irregularities. This results in a perfectly smooth surface, ideal for prolonged contact with skin and hair during sleep.
Is silk good for skin and hair?
Yes. Mulberry silk generates very little friction compared to cotton — it reduces sleep creases on skin and hair breakage. It is naturally thermoregulating, hypoallergenic, and creates no static electricity. These properties make it the material preferred by dermatologists for sleep accessories.
Does the mask really block 100% of light?
Yes. The density of 22 momme silk combined with the anatomical cut of the mask guarantees total darkness. The contoured shape leaves a slight cavity for the eyes, preventing any pressure on the eyelids while maintaining complete opacity.
Is the Andromeda mask certified?
Yes. The mask is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified, the most globally recognized textile certification. It guarantees the absence of harmful substances: dyes, heavy metals, pesticides, formaldehyde. Safe for direct and prolonged contact with skin, including for sensitive individuals.
How do I wash my silk mask?
Hand wash in cold water with a mild soap, or machine wash on a delicate cycle at max 30°C in a mesh laundry bag. Dry flat in the air, away from direct heat. Do not wring. Silk is naturally antibacterial, so washing every 7–10 days is sufficient for daily use.
Is the mask suitable for side sleepers?
Yes. The adjustable silk elastic adapts to all head shapes without pressure or marks upon waking. The mask stays in place all night regardless of sleeping position — back, side, or mixed.
Is the mask suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. Mulberry silk is naturally hypoallergenic. The OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification further guarantees the absence of irritating substances in the fabric. The mask is suitable for sensitive, reactive, or eczema-prone skin.
What size is the mask? Is it adjustable?
The Andromeda mask is one size, adjustable with a silk elastic strap. It fits all head sizes and face shapes — men, women, adults. The anatomical shape fully covers the eyes without pressing on the eyelids.
What is the QR code included with my order?
Every mask ships with a QR code giving access to the Andromeda ritual space — a curated selection of ambient sounds for falling asleep: rain, forest, ocean, binaural beats. Permanent access, exclusively for customers.
What's the difference between mulberry silk and other types of silk?
Mulberry silk (Bombyx mori) is the finest and most uniform of all silks. Unlike wild silks (tussah, eri), its filaments are continuous and uniform, resulting in a far smoother fabric. It is the only silk suitable for prolonged direct contact with skin — other silks are rougher and less hypoallergenic.
